Our Short Trip to Banff

Image
We went to Banff, Alberta in June. It was a very short trip. We landed at the Calgary Airport, picked up the vehicle we rented from  Hertz  and made our way to Canmore, AB. We stayed at the Lodges at Canmore .  You are required to purchase a ' National Park Pass' , we were able to do so once we arrived at the parking lot of Lake Louise. They do confirm the purchase of the pass before letting you into the lot.   Lake Louise was the first stop on our itinerary. The commute was a little less than an hour with no traffic. We arrived around 9:00AM and it was quite busy. Around 11:00AM it jam packed with people and their beautiful dogs. We basically walked straight to the lake. There was no hiking involved for us. There were crowds of people surrounding the lake. If you are going for pictures (that was the sole purpose of our trip) I suggest getting there at least by 7:00AM. We were able to grab a few spots and everyone stepped aside as they thought we were all apart...

Get To Know Me - Personal, Travel and Beauty.

Personal:   Where did you grow up? British Columbia, Canada! I still reside here.  How tall are you? Have you ever dreamt of being taller? A whole 5 feet. Crazy right? Haha. I haven’t. Most people are always shocked when they realize how petite I am. I am not sure why. I think my height is perfect for my personality… if that makes any sense.  Dogs or Cats? Both. However, Benji (my cat-nephew) will always be my number one. He turned me into a crazy cat lady. I used to be so scared of cats simply because you never know what they are thinking or what they are about to do. Do you speak any other languages? Besides English, I speak Punjabi and French. I was in French immersion throughout grade school and just need someone to start a conversation with before the French starts coming back. I like to pretend I can speak Hindi, but really, I can only understand it.  Describe yourself in 3 words: Independent, intuitive and persiste...

Time Is Valuable Y'all

The last few months have been quite interesting. I realized how much I value and swear by my schedule. This summer I ended up with a few unexpected weekends off, which is not what I am used to. I personally don't take more than one or two weekends off in the summer. I definitely do not take long weekends off but I prioritized other things over business this year. However, there were cancellations and/or rescheduling of plans. Things happen, that is life! Basically, I came to the conclusion that I do not know what to do with time off. I haven't figured out how to turn off and actually relax yet. So, learning how to do so is one of my new goals. My weekends are often occupied with clients that book months to a year in advance. Scheduling clients in is always my priority, my personal schedule comes in second. I like it that way. It can be exhausting since it's scheduled around my full-time job, but my business is my baby. 'She' requires a lot of my attention. L...

I have joined the blogging world!

WanderwithSav began with my desire to slowly start traveling the world. I roam around the beautiful province I live in until my next big trip. I am aiming to travel outside the country at least twice a year. So far, it seems like I am on track. I decided I want to share my thoughts and stories about travel, life, beauty and whatever else I may discover throughout my journey. I am practicing this new thing where I say how I feel and do what I want. I mean, everyone that knows me, knows I've been doing that my whole life... But, this is a little different. I hope to have little to no regrets in the present and future. I am not sure if that is inevitable. I want to avoid pondering on the question that I truly dislike, which is: “what if?". Beauty is huge part of my life. I have been in the beauty industry for a few years now. Most of my “free time” outside my full-time job consists of running my business, Empress Studios. I love meeting new people, hearing their stories and ...
